Hawken King is a fine purveyor of delicious designs & imaginative illustrations based in the heart of Tokyo. His award-winning work is often suitably diverse, emotive and far reaching.

I’m not really one for political illustration or parodies – however – I thought this would be satirical enough for the famicase exhibition being held this year at Meteor. On my original sketch, bush was climbing onto the twin towers fending off aeroplanes like king kong. I also had drawn bad-guys scaling the twin towers that he would have to kick down. Perhaps his friend Tony Blair could join him on the other tower as a two player game! (if you are interested in making such a game don’t contact me!).
So why did I leave these features out?
I figured the elements worked well enough alone without being too literal about it.
The famicase exhibition will run from the 2nd ~ 31st of May 2009. This exhibition is being held by the stores owner, he invites artists in Tokyo to create new and interesting game labels, which he then applies to old Famicom (NES) cartridges and exhibits.
